MIDDLE SCHOOL: Interdisciplinary teams have teachers from each of the four core disciplines: science, math, English language arts and social studies. Every student has a small advisory class with teachers who act as student mentors/advocates and primary contact for parents. Students meet with their advisor each day.

We have students who participate in the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) for grade 6-8 students. The AVID system works to prepare students in the academic middle for four-year college eligibility. It has a proven track record for bringing out the best in students and in closing the achievement gap. The AVID program consists of an elective class and college tutors that support rigorous thinking and learning. We are proud to have the distinction of offering the ONLY AVID African American Male Initiative program for K-8 middle grades students in the Nation!

EXTENDED-DAY ACTIVITIES: Academic program, Extended-Day Exploration that includes a Lego Leagues - STEMS, GEMS program and other rigorous enriching educational clubs and classes. We are also a Community Education site offering adult evening classes and programs.
